Big Pharma companies who are making a fortune out of testing for Down Syndrome must be held responsible, and should be obliged to give factual information that is positive and supportive after a diagnosis is made, says Michael O’Dowd of Renua on #International Down Syndrome Awareness Day.

Mr O’Dowd, who is Renua’s candidate in the elections for the European Parliament in June, said that big pharma companies made millions from testing for Down Syndrome and that they should have an obligation to give back to assist people with Down Syndrome to have happy and fulfilled lived with education and career opportunities. His son Conor O’Dowd, who has Down Syndrome took a break from college to join him on the campaign which featured the launch of a billboard campaign on the issue today.
